The NTFU is the Dutch sports union for recreational cycling clubs and organisers of cycling tours. It needed an application for registering tour participants.
As an independent contractor, Jannink IT built it from scratch on .NET with WPF, a NoSQL database and open-source components. The application retrieves tour information from an NTFU web service and sends participant information back through another. It was delivered on time and used by clubs across the Netherlands. Jannink IT designed, developed and maintained the application from 2013 to 2018, through five major releases of Scan & Go.
Key challenges
- Tour information comes from one web service, and participant data goes back through another.
- The application runs at club level, operated by volunteers.
