In 2001 Enschede was one of the first Dutch municipalities to introduce digital services for its residents, which grew into a website with more than a hundred forms, services and information pages.
In a team of two engineers, five functional designers and a team leader, I developed and maintained these products: web forms, and the transfer of the entered data to the municipality’s databases and programs. I also helped build a large reporting service that let residents see the tax information for their house.
We delivered a first set of these services to another municipality, and its success led to a larger project for a generic solution for municipalities across the Netherlands.
I worked for the municipality twice as a contractor through Atos Origin: from February 2005 to February 2006, and again from September 2008 to January 2009.
